Darren was born in Melbourne and spent his teenage years in Darwin. For much of his adult life, though, he has lived in Queensland. He is married to Dorothy and has two adult daughters, a son-in-law and a grandson. Darren is also a fanatical Brisbane Lions supporter and will be found at the famous ‘Gabba’ on match days.
